COVID-19 VACCINE UPDATES
Recent Updates
As of Monday, January 11, the following groups are eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccine. For a complete list, please visit nyc.gov/covidvaccinedistribution:
- Healthcare workers
- People 65 and older
- Residents and staff in nursing homes and certain other group living facilities
- Certain frontline essential workers, such as first responders, teachers and school staff, day care workers, transit workers, and grocery store workers
As of Tuesday, February 2, the following additional groups are eligible:
- NYC Taxi and Limousine Commission (TLC) licensed drivers
- Restaurant workers
Beginning February 15, the following people with underlying conditions are eligible:
- Cancer (current or in remission)
- Chronic kidney disease
- Pulmonary disease
- Intellectual and developmental disabilities
- Heart conditions
- Immunocompromised state (weakened immune system)
- Severe obesity or obesity
- Pregnancy
- Sickle cell disease or thalassemia
- Type 1 or 2 diabetes mellitus
- Cerebrovascular disease
- Neurologic conditions including but not limited to Alzheimer’s disease or dementia
- Liver disease

Vaccine Information
Currently, there are two vaccines approved for emergency use by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA): Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna.
In clinical studies, both vaccines were more than 94% effective at protecting participants from COVID-19.
COVID-19 vaccines are safe, effective, and free to all New Yorkers, regardless of insurance or immigration status. If you have insurance, it may be billed.

Phase Four: Current
Gathering Guidelines
- House of Worship Guidelines
- Phase 4/Non-Cluster:
- Indoor Worship: 50% capacity
- Outdoor Worship: any size with physical distancing
- Cluster Zones:
- Red Zone: Indoor or outdoor worship – 25% capacity or 10 people, which is fewer
- Orange Zone: Indoor or outdoor worship – 33% capacity or 25 people, whichever is fewer
- Yellow Zone: 50% capacity
- Phase 4/Non-Cluster:
- Mass Gathering Guidelines (non-worship gatherings)
- Phase 4/Non-Cluster Zones: No more than 50 people
- Red Zone: Non-essential gatherings of any size are prohibited
- Orange Zone: No more than 10 people for both indoor and outdoor settings
- Yellow Zone: No more than 25 people for both indoor and outdoor settings
Phase Four: All regions of the state have entered Phase 4 of reopening.

- Limit size of indoor and outdoor worship gatherings to no more than 25% of the maximum occupancy of the specific area in use or no more than 25 people for outdoor worship.
- Ensure households stay 6 feet apart from each other
- Require that masks or acceptable face coverings are worn when congregants, volunteers, and/or attendees come within 6 feet of another person.

How You Can Help: Suppliers and Manufacturers
The New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) is seeking businesses with the ability to quickly source and/or make needed medical supplies to support New York City’s COVID-19 response.

Governor Cuomo has called on businesses to produce needed supplies related to COVID-19. New York State needs companies to help in addressing the need for medical supplies and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). New York State offers three options to assist in the response.

- Ready to Supply – Your company is able to immediately sell or produce approved COVID-19 related medical equipment and supplies (i.e. ventilators, N95 masks, surgical masks, etc.).
- Can Re-Purpose Production – Your production company can be certified and retool in order to produce approved COVID-19 related medical equipment and supplies.
- Volunteer or Donate – I would like to offer donated goods, services, or space for use in New York’s response to the COVID-19 public health emergency.
